Best AI Search Visibility Trackers for Local Businesses
By The Check My AI Search Team · October 2026
If you run a big marketing team, Profound and Semrush have the deepest tooling. If you run one local business, Otterly.AI at $29 a month and Local Falcon are the cheaper ways to start, and Peec AI and Ahrefs Brand Radar suit teams with more prompts to track. Check My AI Search is built only for local businesses, and it is not the right pick for every shop below.
Check My AI Search is our product. It is in the list with its limits, and below, other tools are sometimes the better choice.
What is an AI search visibility tracker?
It is a tool that asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and similar services the questions your customers ask, such as "best roofer in Tampa," and records whether your business is named. Because the same question can return a different list each time, a good tracker asks repeatedly and reports a rate, such as "named in 7 of 9 answers." Most were built for software brands.
Best AI search visibility trackers compared
Prices were checked on each vendor's own site on 28 October 2026. Where a figure is not published, we say so.
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Free trial or tier | What you get | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profound | Enterprise brands with a marketing team | Custom (no self-serve price published) | Free trial: 50 prompts run daily for 7 days | Up to 9 answer engines on Enterprise; AI traffic analytics; custom prompt plans | Sales-led pricing; trial has no history or exports; not aimed at one-location shops |
| Otterly.AI | Solo marketers and small teams watching a few prompts | Lite $29/month (15 prompts); Standard $189 | Free trial (length not stated) | Daily tracking on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot; sentiment; citation sources | Gemini costs extra ($9/month on Lite); 15 prompts go fast across services and cities |
| Peec AI | Marketing teams tracking prompts across projects | Starter $95/month (50 prompts) | Not published on the pricing page | Daily tracking, 3 models of your choice, unlimited users, 1 project | Over three times the $29 entry plans; built for brands and agencies, not local searches |
| Semrush | Teams already using Semrush for SEO | From $199/month with AI tracking (50 prompts daily); $165.17/month billed annually | 7-day free trial; free plan with limited AI visibility features | SEO suite plus AI visibility reports for one domain | Mostly an SEO subscription; AI tracking is a smaller part of it |
| Ahrefs Brand Radar | Ahrefs users and anyone who wants broad market data | Custom prompts from $50/month standalone | No Brand Radar trial published | AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot; custom prompts | Priced in checks, so cost is hard to predict; no local framing |
| Local Falcon | Local SEO agencies and businesses that also track map rankings | $24.99/month (Starter), credit-based | 100 free credits on sign-up, no card | Map-grid rankings plus AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews | Which plans include AI tracking is not published; credit math takes effort |
| Check My AI Search | One local business that wants plain-English weekly reports | Local $29/month (1 location, 5 rivals, 12 questions); $290/year | Free one-time check: 5 questions, each asked 2 times on ChatGPT and Gemini; 7-day refund on paid plans | Share of answers naming you and your rivals, the websites the AI quoted, up to six fixes | Weekly, not daily; no sentiment analysis; local trades only, not brands or agencies |
How we picked
We looked for tools a plumber, dentist, lawyer or roofer could buy and use without an agency. We dropped any number we could not confirm on the vendor's own page. Enterprise-priced tools are included because owners ask about them. Nobody paid for a spot.
Tool notes
Profound
Profound is the best-known name in the category. Its pricing page shows two options: a free trial that runs 50 prompts daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and an Enterprise package with a custom price and up to 9 answer engines. No self-serve plan or price is published. The trial is worth an afternoon to see a serious dashboard, but the pricing model suggests a single local business is not the intended buyer. See our Profound alternative guide.
Otterly.AI
Otterly.AI is the closest match on price. Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts tracked daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with sentiment and citation tracking. Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude cost extra, and on Lite the Gemini add-on is $9 a month. It is a solid first tool, but you write the prompts yourself, so you need to know which city and service questions to enter.
Peec AI
Peec AI lists Starter at $95 a month with 50 prompts, a choice of 3 models, daily tracking, unlimited users and one project. It is a clean tool for marketing teams. For one local business the price is hard to justify, and the pricing page does not publish a free trial. See also our Peec AI alternative guide.
Semrush
On Semrush's pricing page, the plan that adds AI visibility tracking with 50 prompts daily is Starter, at $199 a month or $165.17 a month billed annually. A limited free plan and a 7-day trial are offered. If your Semrush plan already includes AI tracking, use it before buying another tool. If not, you are buying an SEO suite to get one feature.
Ahrefs Brand Radar
Per Ahrefs' FAQ, Brand Radar is sold standalone from $50 a month with no Ahrefs subscription. According to the help center, custom prompts run on AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, and the $50 Basic tier includes 2,500 checks a month. Usage is measured in checks, so estimating your cost takes arithmetic.
Local Falcon
Local Falcon began as a map-ranking tool. Its site now describes AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, including a share-of-AI-voice score and a geo-grid view. Its pricing page starts at $24.99 a month for credits, with 100 free credits on sign-up and no card. Which plans include AI tracking is not published. It is the best choice here if map rankings matter as much as ChatGPT.
Check My AI Search
Check My AI Search is built for owners who want an answer, not a dashboard. The Local plan is $29 a month for one location, five rivals and 12 customer questions, each asked three times per engine every week, with up to six ordered fixes. The free check asks five questions twice on ChatGPT and Gemini after an email confirmation, with no card. Paid plans carry a 7-day refund.
Limits worth knowing: checks run weekly, not daily. The free check and public city boards use ChatGPT and Gemini only. The pricing page lists more engines for paid plans, so confirm which are running before you subscribe. It does not track map rankings, and it is not built for national brands or agencies. For map grids, use Local Falcon.
How to choose
- One location, you want a plain answer: start with the free check from Check My AI Search or the Otterly.AI trial, then pick one.
- You also care about map rankings: Local Falcon.
- You already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs: use the AI tracking you have before buying another tool.
- You run a marketing team or an agency: Peec AI or Otterly.AI Standard, and Profound if the budget is there.
- Several locations: compare cost per location carefully. Check My AI Search Growth is $59 for two and Multi-location is $99 for four.
Whichever you use, read the answers themselves and ask each question several times. One ChatGPT screenshot can make you look great or invisible by luck.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI search visibility tracker for a local business?
For one local business, the closest fits are Otterly.AI Lite at $29 a month, Local Falcon if map rankings matter too, and Check My AI Search for plain-English reports. Profound, Semrush and Ahrefs suit marketing teams with bigger budgets. The right pick depends on how many locations you have and how much reporting you want.
How do I check if ChatGPT recommends my business for free?
Ask ChatGPT the questions your customers ask, such as best plumber in your city, several times, and count how often you are named. Answers change from one ask to the next. Check My AI Search runs a free check with five questions asked twice on ChatGPT and Gemini, and Profound offers a seven day trial.
Do AI visibility trackers work for local businesses?
They work when they ask city-specific questions and repeat them. Tools built for brands often track general prompts like best CRM software, which tells a plumber little. Check that you can enter your own city and trade, and that the tool shows the rate you were named, not one screenshot.
How much do AI search visibility tools cost?
Prices in this guide run from $25 a month for Local Falcon to custom quotes at Profound. Otterly.AI Lite and Check My AI Search Local are both $29 a month, Peec AI Starter is $95, Semrush starts at $199 with AI tracking, and Ahrefs Brand Radar custom prompts start at $50 a month.
How often should I check whether AI recommends my business?
Weekly is enough for most local businesses, because AI answers move slowly compared with day-to-day noise. What matters is asking each question several times and comparing the rate over weeks. Daily tracking helps if you run campaigns or have many locations, and some tools here offer it for more money.
