Call Roto-Rooter at 503-937-1993 — its Portland location lists 24/7 emergency service. ([lovettservices.com](https://lovettservices.com/emergency-plumber/)) While you wait: if water is actively leaking, shut off the nearest fixture valve or your home’s main water shutoff. If you smell gas, leave the building and call 911 or your gas utility.

Plumbers and AI search: common questions

Which plumbers does AI recommend most in Portland, OR?

In 6 ChatGPT and Gemini answers checked Oct 20, 2026, the plumbers named most often were Service Plus Plumbing (4 of 6), Lovett Services (2 of 6), Perfect Service Plumbing and Drain Cleaning (2 of 6). AI answers change from one ask to the next, so treat this as a snapshot; we refresh it monthly.

Which websites does AI quote about plumbers in Portland?

In this check the assistants cited reviews.birdeye.com (2 times), rotorooter.com (1 times), lovettservices.com (1 times), cascadelocalseo.com (1 times). Being listed accurately on the sites AI quotes is one of the most direct ways to start being named.

How does ChatGPT pick which plumbers to recommend?

It looks for plumbers whose license number and service area are on their website, whose Google reviews mention the job (water heaters, drains, leaks), and who appear on Angi, Yelp and BBB. Clear 24/7 availability also comes up a lot for emergency questions.

Do AI assistants recommend plumbers for emergencies?

Yes. “Emergency plumber near me” style questions are common, and assistants favour businesses that state their hours and emergency service in plain text, not only in an image or a phone banner.

Does a plumber need a website to be recommended by AI?

In practice, yes. Review sites help, but assistants often confirm details such as licensing, service area and services on the plumber’s own site before naming them.

Why do the same few plumbers come up in every AI answer?

Assistants repeat the businesses with the most consistent, specific information across sources. Smaller plumbers can break in by filling gaps: license, service-area pages and reviews that name the work done.

How this list is made: each question is sent to the assistant with web search on, the way a customer would ask it. We count a business each time it is named. AI answers vary between asks; this is a snapshot, refreshed monthly. Not a paid ranking, and no business can pay to be listed. Weekly tracking for your own business: see plans.
